Self-Direction
Through Self-Direction, individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities gain increased choice and control over their lives, enabling them to pursue fulfilling lives within their communities. Participants have the authority to make decisions regarding their waiver services and the responsibility to manage these services in a way that effectively addresses their needs and helps them reach their desired outcomes. They develop their own individual Service and Support Plan (SSP) and guide all the services and supports outlined in it.
